Most blog content is text, but with the emergence of camera phones and photo-sharing apps, visually immersive blogs are becoming increasingly popular.

At WordCamp Gold Coast, Brett Morgan is going to show a vision of a new way of constructing blogs, using HTML5 technologies, that empower users and clients to express themselves in new ways.

Brett works as part of Google’s Developer Relations team on Blogger, so he knows a thing or two about blogging. I asked Brett a few questions to learn more about graphical blogs and what brings a Blogger man to a WordCamp.

What are you favourite image-driven blogs?

For straight out photography, I love Strobist, for fashion it is hard to not spent a couple of minutes on M loves M, and finally, my personal favourite, for food there is always The Crosby Kitchen.

You’re a Blogger man by day, but just between us, do you ever sneak out of the office onto a WordPress install?

I have to admit, I have a WordPress install on my work laptop. It’s fun to see blogging from a totally different perspective to how I work with it on a day-to-day basis.

What are you most looking forward to at WordCamp Gold Coast?

I attended WordCamp Melbourne, and I was blown away by the community that has formed around WordPress. A very inclusive and fun-loving group, who are open to seeing new things, and thinking about problems in new ways.

Any special plans for your time at Gold Coast?

Unfortunately we are hosting Google Developer Day 2011 in Sydney just a couple of days after WordCamp Gold Coast, so no time for rest and relaxation for me!
